How to apply for JEE Main Examination 2015 :

Before we go ahead, here are a few general instructions:

1. You should read the instructions, procedure and information that has been put up on the bulletin carefully before filling up the application form.

2. Candidates are only allowed to apply online through the official JEE website; http://www.jeemain.nic.in.

3. Candidates must ensure that they are filling the authenticated application form available online.

4. Only those candidates who meet eligibility criteria laid down for the JEE Main, JEE Advanced and any applicable participating State Institutions.

Now, although the CBSE requires candidates to apply through its online portal, they have also setup facilitation centers in case of candidate who aren’t able to fill-up their own application. So, those candidates should approach the facilitation center closest to them so that they can seek out the necessary help required to submit an online application form. There is an extensive list of facilitation centers available on the official website. It is useful to note that these facilitation centers help candidates at no cost to them.

What is the fees for the examination application? What are the other expenses?

The detailed fee structure is available on the JEE official website. Fee can be paid either by debit or credit card, or even through e Challans, available at all leading banks. While paying the fees, candidates are allowed to submit one, and only one Application Form. Multiple Applications submitted by the same candidate are liable for rejection of all their applications.

What is the application procedure?

The online application procedure for JEE  is pretty simple and involves three basic steps:

1. Candidates should furnish all the necessary details while filling the online application form and are required to choose a password and Security Question, with his/her Answer. After submission of the data, an application number will be automatically generated will be used to complete the rest of the application process. This application number will be required for all future correspondences to and from the managing authority. This application number will also serve as the online username in future.

2. Next, candidates will have to upload scanned images of a photograph, signature and thumb impression.

Below are the general guidelines for the uploaded images:

i) The images of photograph, signature along with thumb impression have be in jpg or jpeg format only.

ii) Size of the photograph image must be more than 4 kb and less than 40 kb.

iii)  Size of the signature image as well as thumb impression image must be more than 1 kb and less than 30 kb.

Candidate will be allowed to alter or correct their particulars prior to the payment of fees. But, once the payment has been made, the candidate cannot edit any particulars.

3. Finally, post payment, candidates who have opted for the computer based examination will have to select their desired slot after payment of the examination fee. And those candidates who do not select any particular date or slot, will be allotted the same on a random basis, depending upon availability.
